I’ve been waiting…. and waiting…. and waiting. Finally THE DAY has arrived. Sarah and Dylan are getting married… hopefully right about the time this post goes live… (I’m typing it early in the morning and setting it to publish later today)
I could not have asked for a bridal portrait session to go better. Gorgeous weather. Mild temps. Hottie for a bride. Oh,,, and one amazing photographer.
Okay, that’s enough …… let’s see some pictures.

I didn’t have the good fortune to shoot their wedding, but I was lucky enough to spend a couple of hours playing with them last week. Duane and Ashley are a husband and wife video team from Birmingham, Alabama. You can check out their work here… http://www.DigitalMotionFilms.com.
So Duane and Ashley have been married for a little over five years and being true to the great people they are, they’ve decided to pass along her wedding dress to another girl who is getting married,,, but not before having one more photo session. While they were in Arkansas for a video shoot, they spent a night in Mtn. Home, giving us the opportunity to work together one more time. This time, however, they weren’t behind the video camera, they were in front of mine. This, to me, is what a bridal session should be. Fun, relaxed and personal.
Here are a few quick samples from the session.

Here are a few samples from Susan’s bridal session. I just photographed the wedding this past Saturday and will be posting photos from it later this week. For now, enjoy a few photos of a beautiful woman in a beautiful wedding gown.

One of the greatest compliments I get is when I am invited back to photograph another wedding for a family. It lets me know that they were happy with my work,,, and hopefully with me. This past weekend Trisha and I drove to Quincy, IL to photograph the wedding of Shelby and Jake. I’ve photographed Shelby’s dad’s wedding a few years back and then I photographed her sister’s wedding in Quincy a few years ago as well. Trisha and I will also be shooting her step-sister’s wedding in Kansas City next Spring. I genuinely feel as if I’m with family each time I get to be with them.
We were thrilled to spend another Saturday with all of them. Barb, the mother of the bride took care of us from the time we arrived and made sure everything we needed was available. We couldn’t have asked for anything better.
Ok, enough about that. Let’s get to the photos. There are a TON of them to pick from, so these are kind of random,,, but here are a few selections from the day.

I often say that we were treated like family when we photograph weddings, and it’s true. When you spend 8 or 10 hours in a row with a family, they normally get quite comfortable with you. This wedding was just a tiny bit different… I really felt as if I’d gone back home. When we arrived at the church, we found all of Renae’s family finishing up the decorations and working on the food. Walking into the church hall, I was overwhelmed with the smells of all the food coming out of the kitchen. It reminded me of being a kid and walking into my grandparent’s house and seeing my mom and my aunts in the kitchen with Grandma. I loved it.
The wedding was held in an incredible Catholic church that was built in 1917 that has been home to some of Renae’s family ever since it was built. Apparently several members of her family have been married in the same church over the past generations. I thought it was cool that we were there to document one more wedding in this long line. It was actually in Morrison Bluff, Arkansas, population 74. Even though this is the smallest town we’ve photographed a wedding in so far, this was far from being a small wedding.
We were also lucky enough to have a few minutes to steal Shawn and Renae during the reception for a short session.
Thanks for letting us be there to document your wedding day.

When looking through the gallery for photos to post, I couldn’t choose between the next two… so I left both of them in. This guy was just too cute.
