Josh & Jaime ~ Colorado Springs, Colorado

I’m possibly the greatest traveler on earth. On June 1, 2006 Trisha and I started on our way to Colorado Springs, Colorado to photograph the wedding of Josh & Jaime. We traveled half way across Arkansas… the entire way across Oklahoma (through the panhandle and Black Mesa State Park). So, driving along we are looking at the atlas and see that since we’ve left Oklahoma and are now in New Mexico we can simply take New Mexico Highway 456 and end up a lot closer to where we want to be. I was wrong. One should never read the map while driving. Highway 456 ran through some of the most beautiful country I’ve seen. Beautiful mesas surrounded us. Mule deer, jack rabbits and a few anteope entertained us on our drive…. until we saw the sign that said “pavement ends” then another that said “17 miles of rough road”. Right there…. we should have turned around and went back where we had already been, but we didn’t. We could not possibly imagine there was 17 miles of gravel road ahead of us. So, we traveled on a little ways further and saw the pavement start again. Here’s the glorious sight of paved highway…

We figured there must have been new highway put in since the signs were put up and we would be good. Another one half mile of pavement and we were back on gravel. Fifteen miles an hour in our car for 17 miles. Seventeen rough, beat you to death, washboard dirt road. It was an hour of togetherness we hadn’t planned on. Eventually we did make it to Colorado Springs (thus the reason we always leave early) and the wedding’s beauty was only outdone by the bride’s beauty.

Here’s a sample of some of my favorite shots. We started earlier in the day at the bride’s house with her getting ready, shot the wedding at New Life Church, spent an hour riding around with the bridal party and playing at a wooded park and then finished the day up at the reception.

It ends up that getting sidetracked only added to the wonderful time we had.

Best wishes to Josh and Jaime.

Acoustic Wedding, Mark Magnuson

Early this month I had the pleasure of photographing a wedding in Colorado Springs for Jaime Magnuson, daughter of another photographer, Stacey Magnuson. I’ve known the mother of the bride for a few years now and feel as if we’ve really gotten to know the entire family through our conversations and meetings. I’ll be posting photographs of the wedding in the next day or so.

However, what I did not realize is how incredibly talented the family is. Mark Magnuson, the father of the bride is a well known musician whose acoustic guitar music in simply amazing. One of his CDs, Acoustic Wedding would be especially helpful for the couple who is looking for the right music for their wedding. I’ve also found this to be the perfect music for wedding slideshows. Mark also has a cd of Acoustic Hymns that you can check out as well.

Learning from your experience!!!

Alright,,,, I'm looking for input from former brides, grooms,,, parents of the B&G,,, anybody connected with weddings who has already gone through the planning process.

If you feel that you have something to contribute, submit it here.

Thanks,

Gautam & Cindy ~ Hot Springs, Arkansas

There is so little that I can say to describe their wedding day. Two ceremonies…. lots of friends… incredible reception. The photos will do a better job describing it than I can.

Best wishes to Cindy & Gautam in their marriage and their goals for their medical careers.

Carlos & Robyn ~ Eureka Springs, Arkansas

I met Carlos and Robyn just before the end of 2004 and knew immediately how much I was going to enjoy working with them. Robyn is incredibly sweet and one of the more organized brides I’ve had the pleasure of working with. Carlos compliments her quite well and has one of the best outlooks on life I’ve been around. Together, they made for a day that was both beautiful and full of love. Family from all over attended their wedding in Eureka Springs, Arkansas where the ceremony was held at Thorncrown Chapel with the reception at Blue Springs Flower Garden. I don’t think they could have chosen two better locations.

While these may not be all of my favorite photographs from the day, it’s a small sampe….

Ben & Brandi ~ Springfield, Missouri

Ok, I’m WAY behind in updating my blog with new wedding pictures, but April, May and June are killer months for photographers. So, after finishing the edit on Ben and Brandi’s gallery I want to share a few of their photographs.

Ben, Brandi and I spent a few minutes at the Japanese Stroll Garden in Springfield, Missouri after their weddig ceremony. Their personalities really blended with my style of photography and we ended up with some things that I felt honestly captured the love they share.
