I had the pleasure of photographing Russell’s sister’s wedding last year. Josh and Karla were an amazingly striking couple to photograph. Now, I get to photograph Russell and Erin next Spring. This past Sunday we went to one of the local nature trails to find some Fall color. We found it. More than that though, we had a great time and ended up with some beautiful photographs of the two of them.

Here’s a couple of samples.

I’m looking forward to joining them on their wedding day because they were so easy to work with and seem to be totally at ease in front of the camera.

and one black and white…

Texarkana is one of those towns that keeps me wondering which state I’m in. I started the day off at my hotel room in Texas then moved on to the Bride’s house in Arkansas. The ceremony was in Arkansas then back to Texas for the reception. I was simply confused half the night. I guess if you live there, you get used to it though. Regardless of which state I happened to be in at any given moment, I was guaranteed to be having a great time.

Stephanie and Brandon both celebrate life with a rich Cajun history and their reception was proof of the beautiful cooking that their heritage takes pride in. The ceremony was incredibly beautiful. The venue was St. Edward’s in Texarkana. What an amazingly beautiful church. The windows, the alter and the old wooden pews added up to a magnificent place for their wedding to take place.

I’m posting three photographs from their wedding in hopes of keeping them and their families satisfied until I finish their entire gallery. There are going to be several hundred beautiful photos for them to go through.

Thanks for allowing me to be part of your wedding day. I wish you two a lifetime of happiness together.

I’ve been at the computer a lot lately. When not on the computer, editing wedding photos, I’ve been on the road to shoot. October and November are becoming the new June. I’m amazed every year how busy the Autumn is….. and I’m not sure why I continue to be amazed, as it happens every year.

So, I thought I’d post a few thoughts about the next few weeks coming up.

Every year after the holiday season I receive a ton of phone calls from couples who are looking for a photographer. Some times these are couples that I have spoken with previously and some are new contacts. It never fails that somebody will call back to reserve their date, only to find out that it has already been reserved by another couple. So, I’d like to urge those who are considering reserving their wedding date to not wait until the January rush. After the holiday season there are a lot of newly engaged couples who are looking as well. It really breaks my heart when I’ve spent time getting to know a bride and groom and then find out that they were not able to get their date reserved with me. I do, however, try my hardest to assist them in finding another photographer who can meet their needs as well.

Now that October is about to come to an end I’m looking back over this past year and the couples who have shared their wedding day with me. It’s been an incredible year. I’ve been fortunate enough to recently have two bridesmaids from this year’s weddings, book their date with me. That makes me feel great. To know that they were comfortable enough with me and were loved my work enough to want to use me for their wedding.

Anyway, have a great Autumn and get busy planning your weddings.
