Vote for the cover couple!!!

Ok, in January of 2007, two of my couples from this past year, Ben & Crystanna and Gautam & Cindy will be featured in America’s Bride and Groom, Arkansas and we need your vote.  Visit ABG’s website to vote on the cover couple for the Winter Issue.

I’m really pumped that both of these wonderful couples will be able to share their stories with other couples who will be getting married (and I’ll admit,,, having my work published isn’t bad either).

Anyway, the couple who gets the most votes also gets a bit of a monetary prize,,,, so take a minute and select their name and hit submit.

José & Amanda ~ Engagement Session

The third time is the charm.  Right????  We’d been rained out twice for outside shoots over the past couple of months and this time the rain held off, but the temp was a bit cold.  However, José and Amanda made it through and were not bothered by the low temp…. too much anyway.

They were both a lot of fun to work with, they loved the camera and the camera loved them.  Their ability to play with one another without worrying about my being present made for some very beautiful shots of them together.

Here’s a few exampels from their shoot.

It was really cold that day.    Thanks guys for hanging in there.

Rob & Molly ~ Little Rock, Arkansas

It felt like I had gone to a family reunion this last Saturday.  First off, Rob and Molly could not have been more inviting or welcoming.  From the moment I arrived Molly was a bundle of energy, singing with her bridesmaids as she got ready for the day and didn’t lose that energy at all.  By the end of the evening, nine hours after I’d arrived she and Rob (along with all the wedding party) were still going strong at the reception, dancing and laughing.

The reunion part for me was really special.  The mother of a bride whose wedding I shot back in March was present, as was the mother and father of a recent groom.  To top it off, one of the bridesmaids is the daughter of my daughter’s music teacher.  So, it was a thrill to see so many people, from different locations together at one place who I have contacts with.

Ok, back to Rob and Molly.  Here’s a few pictures to peek in on their day.  I just couldn’t leave for the holiday and not get a couple of shots up for them.

Flying Solo…. Erin

Last night my daughter, Erin, had her first performance as a soloist at her school’s musical program. When she was just an infant, Erin would make noises (pre-talking) in tune and timing to the songs she would hear. We knew she had a natural talent, but we just didn’t realize how much.

So last night she stepped up to the microphone, and waited. She waited patiently for the music to begin and I thought my heart would absolutely beat out of my chest as I stood there, camera in hand, waiting for her to start. I knew she could do it, but man was I nervous for her. Through my “parent’s brain” was running all kinds of fears and anticipation. Then,,,, she started to sing. She did so great. I know that as a father I am probably a little biased, but it was beautiful. Her natural range is unbelievable. Hitting her notes as she was supposed to, she made it through her song, The First Noel.

It was really cool to watch my own child take the spotlight as all the other children took a seat on the stage and sat in darkness while she sang. Then, as at the end of the program each row of children made their way to the front of the stage and took a bow. Watching Erin, on the back row, make her way to the front of the stage, she stood right in the center, took her bow and she was done. …… and I’m still reliving it.

Not wanting to miss hearing her, I only shot a few frames so that I could really pay attention. Here’s three quick shots.

Tara & Logan AND Parker

One of my favorite things about being a photographer is the closeness that builds between me and my clients. So, I’m proud to announce that one of my recent couples had added to their family.

You may remember Tara and Logan from earlier posts on here…

Well, I’m proud to introduce you to their new son Parker. Here are two photos that Tara emailed to me last night. Looks like Parker may be a boxer at heart. Just need some baby boxing gloves to put on his fists.

Congratulations guys. Enjoy every minute of parenthood.

Ballerinas at the Frosty Festival

My daughters took part in their first public dance performance this past weekend.  To me, one of the best parts of it is that I was not shooting a wedding and was able to be there with them.

So, here’s Amelia and Erin.
