This is what you are likely to see if you stop by the office. Harriet, our English Bulldog found a nice warm spot in front of the fireplace, on the rug to chew her new chew bone. Life around the Blair house if always full of fun with our zoo full of animals and kids.

Yesterday, we had a visit from Tony, a pug that came with Vandy. We did Vandy’s bridal portraits yesterday and some of them starred the one and only Tony. After their wedding I’ll show some of these photos, but for now I have to keep them private so the groom doesn’t see Vandy’s gown.

So, here’s Harriet….

Ok, now I’ve got to go clean up bits of chew bone.

Today was cold. Not just cold, but cold and windy. That didn’t matter though when it came to getting great photograhps of Nic and Kati. We met at the Little Rock River Market and spent about an hour freezing, but both Nic and Kati were wiling to hang in there and get it done. After we left the River Market we took a trip out to Pinacle Mountain State Park,,, where it was even windier. These two seriously amazed me. I had it easy, I didn’t have to worry about the wind making my eyes water, but both Nic and Kati made the best of it and I can’t wait to show them all of their photos.

Here are three shots from today. Man, what a great looking couple and watching them interact with one another was so much fun.

Now all three of these are basically from the same place, but I promise, there are other locations in their photos.

Ok, so I had to come back and add one more. For some reason, this just seemed so funny to me. Every once in a while during a photo session you get a person who just wants to observe. Today, we had the bicycle guy. He just sat there on his bike, watching. Never got any closer, never said anything, just quietly observed from a distance. I thought he added a good element to the background.

Ok, just three more…. simply because I like these shots………

Thanks guys, I had an incredible time with you two. Looking forward to the wedding.

So everybody knows that I love my job. I truly do, but I realize that spending so much time involved with flowers, dresses, shoes and such tends to take it’s toll on any guy. I find myself looking at shoes, not men’s shoes, WOMEN’s shoes, and thinking, “those are so cute”. I was truly afraid that my “man card” would be pulled and I’d no longer be able to claim that I was a male.

Then, yesterday came and my old cordless drill just gave up. It could go no longer. So, off to the hardware store I went. And 18 volts later,,, I’m in business.

Hitachi 18V Cordless Drill.

560 IN-LBS of Torque (I’m not sure what that means,,, but I like it)

Two 2.oAh Ni-Cd batteries

Multi-Stage Clutch

1/2″ Keyless Chuck with Ratcheting Lock Mechanism (again,,, dunno what ALL of that means, just part of it, but I like it)

Belt Hook with LED Light

Quick Change Bit Adapter

(insert Tim Allen grunting noise here)

Now, even though I am the proud owner of a new power tool, I’m sure I’ll still look at really cool shoes, and know they’re hot.

I was chatting with some other photographers a few days ago and one asked to see some examples of sequence shots. It dawned on me at that point that I normally show single frame moments. The truth is, some moments…. cannot be defined by one single frame.

One of my favorite sequences from this past year came from Rob and Molly’s wedding when the band started playing Good Golly, Ms. Molly. The excitement was more than Molly could contain. This sequence now hangs on my studio wall. I love it. I love the true emotion and energy that is evident in Molly’s jumping. Alone, they are good shots. I think together they become great.

Here he is …. again. The guy that so many of you hear running around in the background when you call. Ian,,, or aka Batman. Last night while setting up for a portrait shoot, Batman made a surprise appearance into the studio. This, however, worked out quite well as I was able to use Batman as a test subject for my lighting, and simultaneously capturing the elusive hero in three great frames.
