Russell & Erin ~ Harrison, Arkansas

Two years ago I photographed Josh and Karla’s wedding, here in Mtn. Home. Yesterday, John Carter and I spent the day with Karla’s brother, Russell and his new wife Erin. Their wedding was almost as beautiful as the couple is. These guys love the camera and made our jobs unbelievably easy.

Here’s a few of my favorites from the day.

Mark & Tera ~ April 02, 2005

This past Saturday I spent a beautiful day shooting for Keith and Vandy and had a wonderful time. One of the great things about my job is the relationship I build with my clients…. and getting to see past clients is always awesome. Well this Saturday I was lucky enough to run into Tera, but Mark was not with her, as he is serving in Iraq right now. I really hope he comes home soon and makes it home safely.

Anyway, I really enjoyed getting to see Tera and thought it would be fitting to repost a few of my favorite shots from my time with Mark and Tera. One is an engagement shot and the others are from their wedding day. In a few months, Mark will hopefully get to come home for a visit and we’ll be doing a portrait session for the two of them. We’ll update the blog with fresh photos of them at that time.

Vandy and Tera

Keith & Vandy ~ Russellville, AR

Ok, here they are.  This couple’s story is so cool.  They’ve known each other since childhood, apparently and it was pretty cool to watch Keith’s face as he saw Vandy in her gown for the first time.  The smile on this guy’s face was so awesome.

Here are a few shots from my time with them.  I loved watching them leave the reception in a boat.  Definitely cool.

Thanks guys for having me along on the beginning of your journey.

Vandy; Bridal session in the cold.

Ok, so yesterday Vandy married Keith…. and now I can post these photos since he’s seen her dress. When Vandy and her mom came up to have bridal portraits made it was around 30 degrees Fahrenheit…. and windy. Just a rather miserable day, but that didn’t stop us from getting some great shots. Here are three of my favorites from that shoot. Within the next day or so, I’ll post some pics from their wedding day.

A Toast, to me….

Today I celebrate an anniversary. Two years ago today I clocked in for my last 24 hour shift as a paramedic. During my 8 years in EMS, I worked with some amazing partners, met some beautiful people with stories that were equally as beautiful. During that time I had people die and I had the opportunities to say I’d helped others live. I had days that made me cry and some that made me simply angry. I laughed uncontrollably with my partners AND my patients at times. Those years in EMS most certainly will have a lasting impact on my life. The things I saw and had to do became part of me, and at times, I do miss working with the people who became my extended family. There is no doubt that the EMTs and Paramedics that I worked with would do absolutely anything they could for you.

The best thing I did while working on the ambulance though, was start my photography business. The first several years were tough. Working both as a paramedic and a photographer meant spending long hours trying to get things done. It was tiring and I’m glad that is behind me. Now, I’m able to give my clients the attention to detail that they deserve. I’m also able to give my family the attention they deserve……………………

………. and it is with this, that I would like to celebrate. So, today I celebrate two years since I last worked as a paramedic.
