You may remember Nic and Kati, from our engagement shoot back in January. Here’s one of their photos from that shoot.

Nic & Kati in Little Rock

Well, I had no idea how much fun we’d have shooting Kati’s bridal portraits. I spoke with her about the possibility of doing something really weird and she loved the sound of it. I’m thrilled with the results. She and her mother showed up here with three dresses…. a beautiful wedding gown, her dress that she would leave the reception in and one more. The last one was a dress that we could do anything we wanted with. I wanted to get in the water at Pigeon Creek on Lake Norfork. We did.

We started the shoot out with a pretty traditional session of outdoor portraits in Kati’s real wedding dress. She made the dress look absolutely incredible.

Then we took her to the least likely spot anybody would want to have their photo taken,,,, and it turned out some smoking photographs. It didn’t hurt though, that Kati looked amazingly hot in her dress.

And finally, we made it through one more change of clothes at the studio and headed off for the lake as the sun was setting. I’m pretty sure Kati’s mom thought we were all nuts, and she may have been correct. I’ll also admit that I was a bit nervous wading around in the lake with all the camera equipment…. as digital cameras aren’t too forgiving after they’ve gone for a swim. Luckily, the only things that got soaked were my jeans, Trisha’s pants and Kati’s dress. Oh, there was the incident of Kati splashing water and possibly getting some in her mouth. I’m amazed at what she was willing to do for some great photographs.

So, here are a few of my favorites from the lake. The first one is one of a series that we took in the wooded area that lines the shore and the final three are of her actually in the water.

John and Kristy came by yesterday with Isabella and Savannah to have some baby pictures taken. I’m not sure the girls were as happy about his idea as mom and dad were. Actually, we had a blast. It’s been a while since little baby toes have been found in our house, so it was kind of cool. Then, add in the fact that John is a huge Star Wars geek,,, like I am,, and we were set for some fun conversation. Trisha and Kristy, on the other hand, thought that John and I were a couple of dorks…. but they still love us.

Anyway, here’s a few samples from their shoot.

The first one wasn’t really from the portrait session… just a moment caught while Kristy was getting the girls ready.

This past weekend I stumbled into a part on the banks of Lake Ouachita outside of Mt. Ida and a wedding just happened to take place. At least that is how it felt. Jeremy and Amy’s wedding was as relaxed and fun as I could have ever imagined it would be. These two spend as much time as possible on the water, and as such, it was only fitting that they were wed as close to the lake as possible.

Then entire day was filled with laughter, love and friendship.  Every person there felt like one of the gang.  Both families and all the friends who attended was a wonderful addition to Amy’s and Jeremy’s celebration.

Amy’s dad and I spoke about how these two seem to fit perfectly with one another…. and they simply do. Watching them interact, you would believe that they have been married for years, already knowing what the other will do, and being there to compliment the actions of the other. It was really humbling to be there as a witness to their marriage, and I hope they know how honored I am that they allowed me to be part of their wedding day.

Here is a random sampling of photos from the day. I’m sure there will be so many more that I’ll wish I had put up here.

I’ve been dying to post these, because this girl is so striking and was so fun to photograph. There’s not much I can say other than,,, Amy and Jeremy are finally married and I can show these to the world now that he’s seen her in the dress.

I’ll be posting images from their wedding very soon.
