Every year we have our Dear Santa party, where our kids send their Santa letter off on helium balloons. A couple of years ago, it morphed from a single event of letting the balloons go, into a small get together with the Carter family. This year the party was postponed due to rain, but it finally happened. We thought the weather might give us some snow, but we were wrong. Well, I guess we actually did get some snow, but it was pitiful. I’ve got a photo of the results of the snow storm as it covered the top of a dumpster. I’m really missing snow.

Anyway, we had a great afternoon and night. We were blessed with an impromptu fashion show from Amelia and Jaden. We ate too much junk. Most of all, we had fun with our friends and family. That is what it’s about. I just loved watching as Amelia phonetically spelled all the words on her letter. The letter is written, each year, by the youngest member of our family who can write. Ian is really wanting to be the one to write it, and I know that will happen all too soon.

Here are several photos from the day. As I said, there is one photo of the massive amount of snow that we received. It barely covered the lid on the neighboring business’ dumpster. To finish up the gallery there is one photo of our house I took on my way back from trying to photograph the snow.

Just for reference, here are two posts from last December that relate to this….

Last Sunday it was a cold, dreary day. A day that felt as if Mountain Home had relocated to Scotland, with a heavy mist hanging in the air all day. Well, Jessica and her mom made the 150 mile (ok, it’s more than that, I’m just not sure how far)  trip from White Hall, south of Little Rock, to our studio here in Mountain Home even though the driving conditions were not the best. The weather prevented us from shooting outdoors, but we ended up with some awesome stuff. Here are four of my personal favorites from her shoot. Then again, it was really hard to pick only four shots out of her gallery to show on the blog.

Trisha and I have the coolest jobs on the planet. Several months ago we met Brittany and Jeremy and had the pleasure of photographing their wedding reception in Jonesboro, AR. We wished we’d been able to play with them on the beach when they were married, but we were already booked, so we caught back up after they returned home for the reception.

Here’s one photo from the reception. I just love how beautiful Britt is in this photo.

Last week we once again spent some time with Britt and Jeremy at their home in Jonesboro for Britt’s maternity session. Here are two of my personal favorites from that session. The photo of Jeremy holding onto her belly leave little doubt as to how much he is in love with Britt.

So, congratulations to one of the coolest couples we’ve met.  We can’t wait to see the baby.

Last Friday evening, the Carter family joined my family here at the studio for some pizza, spiced apple cider and soft drinks. We then took a walk to the Mtn. Home square, three blocks away, to see this year’s Christmas Parade. Here are a few photos from a cold, misty evening.

To be honest, I’m still not sure what the guy dressed up as a Native American had to do with Christmas, but he did give Ian and Jake Carter candy, so I took his photo.
