I guess there’s always a point where you start.  After a lifetime of using film, I bought a digital camera from Wal-Mart.  An inexpensive p&s,,, with a whopping 640×480 resolution in December or 2000…. and it was so fun.  Being able to just play without worrying about wasting film was so cool… and new.   Anyway, I was going through some cases of archived discs today and I ran across a disc from the Spring of 2001 and popped it into the dvd drive.  After looking through some of the photos, I thought I’d share a couple of my earliest digital photos.  They are of Erin and Conner, seven years younger.  Man, it nearly killed me looking at these.  As I browsed the galleries I had to face how much they’ve grown and how much they’ve changed…. and how close they are getting to moving on to a different stage of life.

Ok, …. I’ve got to stop thinking about that.

I know the pics are a bit grainy, but that’s what I get from early digital technology and enlarging the photo for posting on here…. and that’s ok.

Well, two actually…. and a banjo. I’m really not sure why I own them. I cannot play any of them… at all. I’d bet it’s safe to say that all three of them have at least 99% of the music still in them, because it’s sure that I’ve gotten very little music out of them. So today, while sitting in the studio, looking at my Ibanez hanging on my office wall I wondered why I still have it. It looks pretty. It collects dust quite well. As a matter of fact, I’d say it is quite accomplished at collecting dust.

No real point to this,,, but there are lots of things that I’ve blogged about that have no actual merit or meaning. This is one of those times.

If anybody knows why I ever thought I could learn to play an instrument,,, please tell me.

Today I figured it would be a good time to start a new category on our blog….. anniversaries.

One year ago today Trisha and I spent a hot Saturday afternoon shooting Ty and Cari’s wedding…. and then for the next several months, they’d just pop into the studio from time to time to say hi. Here’s a couple of frames from an impromptu session Cari and I shot when she stopped by last winter.

Let’s also revisit a couple of their engagement photos and a couple of my favorites from the wedding.

It’s time to give our seniors their own showcase. So, who’s going to be the first of 2009 to make it to the galleries of b2seniors.com?
