This boy has the cutest smile … possibly ever, but he did not like the wind at all.  I love getting to photograph milestones in the lives of my clients and turning one… is a huge milestone.  I mean, one is when you finally get to start holding up a finger to tell people how old you are.  It’s the decline of  … “how old is he?”… “oh, he’s 11 MONTHS”.  It’s a BIG day.  Anyway, thank you to Tom and Camie for stopping by and allowing me the pleasure of getting to spend the morning with Thomas.

Last week I spoke at the Arkansas Young Artist Association yearly conference in Little Rock and had an opportunity to show a lot of my work to some extremely talented high school artists from around the state.  It was rather intimidating, due to the amount of skill and talent sitting in the 1000 chairs in front of me.  It seems that a few of my photos must have at least had some type of an impact on at least one student…. Victoria.

Yesterday, Victoria and her crew drove to Mtn. Home from Conway for her senior portraits and personally, I think the results are awesome.  We had a lot of gorgeous, golden, late evening light to work with and tried our best to take advantage of it.

Here are a few of my favorites from the session.

Yesterday was windy.  Really, horribly windy.  I was thrilled that Weston had short hair… as it would have been very hard photographing otherwise.  This guy pulled up in a bad truck that just made me a bit more than jealous… so I had to put aside my jealousy and get to work.  We only shot a handful of studio poses then headed outside.  He’s got a great smile, but his serious look is amazing.  I love when I get to photograph these really photogenic people.  They make my job easy.

The second half of Senior Portraits is on and yesterday we had Kenna stop by the studio.   She is such a beautiful girl with a great smile… and an amazing serious stare.   I loved that she was up for anything.  She even ventured out into the water… which was just amazingly cold.  Her poor legs and feet were bright red when she came out, but we got the shots and they are awesome.

A special thanks to her mom, Wendy, and her brother, Nick, for lending a hand with a light panel.  We’ll be getting to see Kenna’s sister, Jenna, in a few days and will get her on the blog as soon as possible.

I LOVE this event.  The students all look fantastic and to be honest,,, I have a ton of fun.  Once again, after the formal photographs we put up the white and let the kids come back for some un-etiquette photos.  Their personalities just keep me feeling like a kid.  Here are a few quick samples from the night’s fun. When the gallery is live, March 2, 2011, you will be able to access the photos at b2orders.com/yes The gallery is now active and will be up until March 22, 20011.
