About b2

Over the past ten years I’ve read a lot of “About” pages. …. and I’ve rewritten my own several times.  Since this is my blog and I post a lot of details about my life and things other than my photography, let me tell you a bit about myself.

I’m John C. Blair, the youngest of three kids who grew up in rural Oklahoma.  As a kid I photographed everything … from 36 exposures of our Christmas tree to many full rolls of film of a single sunset over the neighbor’s pond.  I spent my high school years active in FFA, training horses and mules, hauling hay, listening to George Strait and …. taking way too many pictures of basketball and football games at my high school.

My greatest claim to fame… the Channel 6 news in Tulsa, KOTV, read a letter on a Thursday in April of 1988 that reported I had been killed in a car wreck.  I wrote the letter.  My grandpa wouldn’t talk to me for weeks.  My granny thought it was the funniest thing ever.

Second greatest claim to fame… I was the 1988 Oklahoma State Champion Poultry Judging contestant.  Yeah, I used to know A LOT about chickens.  Now I know that chicken is fantastic when cooked over charcoal and served with a frosty beverage.

I met a totally hot girl at Reid Hall on the UofA campus in Fayetteville in my first year of college.  Two years later we were married and on January 25, 2011 we celebrated 21 years since our first kiss.  I still think she’s a hottie.

Together we have four children… boy, girl, girl, boy.  My kids, along with my wife, are the most important things in my life.  Our oldest daughter is the great photographer who took our  pictures for this page.

I’ve recently found a love for the ocean and some day hope to live on the beach.  For now, I live in the Ozark foothills and enjoy the lakes and rivers that surround me.

After a career as a paramedic I finally went full time with photography.  While I loved the excitement and fulfillment of saving lives, I love my current career even more.   I love seeing people on the best days of their lives.  I appreciate each and every one of my clients.  I appreciate that they put their trust in me to document their weddings and create portraits of their family members.

When you call, you will often hear my kids in the background.  If they are being quiet, you will then most likely hear my dogs; two boxers and an English bulldog.

I am horribly addicted to coffee.  I normally have it with me at all times of the day.

I love clients who want to do something new, something exciting and something fun.

Now that you know something about me, I look forward to getting to know more about you.
